Background
My name is Geoff (Top Gear anyone?), and I'm an iFixit technical writer. I'm currently a fourth year Computer Engineering student at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, but I originally hail from Norco (AKA Horsetown U.S.A), a rural community in Southern California.
What do I do at iFixit?
I get to take apart the latest and greatest tech gizmos, as well as help run iFixit's EDU program. I've always been a huge computer nerd, so iFixit is the perfect fit for me. My first official teardown was the Project Tango Tablet, and I can't wait to see what newfangled devices I get to take apart in the coming years.
What do I do with my free time?
When I'm not busy bringing awesome DIY repair goodness to the internet, I love to work on my car, enjoy the outdoors, dabble in photography, and spend an inordinate amount of time playing video games.
Hey Jack! It's actually fully working..Job Simulator is a ton of fun on it:D
Hey Apawilo. A punctured battery has potential to be very dangerous (Fire, harmful chemicals, etc), so please make sure to dispose of it at the nearest e-waste recycling site.
Thanks for the tip! The ribbon cable has been added to Step 12. Feel free to edit it to add anything specific about the procedure.
Thanks Dan! The guide has been updated.
We're fairly certain that the "G1G1" in "K3RG1G10BM-BGCH" indicates a 4 Gb x 4 die, which would be 16 Gb or 2 GB. It's also very similar to the Galaxy S6's "K3RG3G30MM-DGCH", where the "G3G3" is a 6 Gb x 4 die, or 24 Gb (3 GB).
That's part of the display assembly adhesive strip.
Hey Darren! Sorry about the issues with the battery removal. This is an "Archived" guide, which means that it's only being kept around for reference, and really shouldn't be used unless absolutely necessary. We'll hopefully have a full set of guides for the LG G2 in the coming months, so stay tuned!
It appears to be some new Apple tech that allows for light to be sensed through the display, using a special type of solar cell. Pretty cool right?
Hey Huey,
Nice catch! This has now been fixed.
InvenSense did indeed supply the gyro/accelerometer.
