"I replaced my screen on my HTC HD2 and the screen comes on when its not in the shell but when i put the phone back in the shell to place the screws in it does not come on i feel the vibration that the phone is coming on but the screen does not and when i take it back off it comes on i looked for any shortages but did not find also the cable that the buttons are attached to is broken could that be the problem any any solutions" Maybe it is a little bit late but for the ones who possibly will face with this problem I would like to give the solution. I had the same problem with my HTC HD2 after replacing the touch screen, than I found that the touch screen soldering to the Display was poor and I solder it again now carefully and strong. The problem solved. Hope this helps.
