Hey everyone, My name is Jay Amoasi. I'm a freshman student at the University of North Texas. I'm majoring in psychology, and hoping to get a PhD in psychology one day to become a research psychologist.

I grew up an only child in a household with parents who were always quick to buy something new instead of fixing it. When I was old enough, I began to try to fix any broken items I could find instead of throwing them away. I mostly just did trial-and-error until I got whatever I was working on to work correctly again. However, if I was at a total loss, Google became my best friend at that moment. My determination to fix these items fueled my brain to think outside the box when confronted with a certain situation. I became quite good at fixing things.

Image 1: A diagram of an egg "case".

In 11th grade, my physics teacher tasked our class with creating a case to protect an egg falling off a ledge about 15 feet high. I used pipe cleaners, popsicle sticks, rubber bands, hot glue, and tape.

Image 2: Marble Roller Coaster

In the same 11th grade physics class, my teacher had us build a "roller coaster" out of pool noodles that were supported by the wall. The purpose was to create a roller coaster that would allow the marble to reach a certain velocity, even with loops and hills.
