Hello there, fellow iFixit community! I'm thrilled to be a part of this platform where we celebrate tinkering, fixing, and learning together.
Let me introduce myself. I'm Tanvi Verma, currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Biology as a Pre-Med student at the University of North Texas. Originally, from Punjab, India, a region renowned for its ancient and diverse culture, I've harbored a dream of becoming a surgeon since the age of five. My undergraduate journey marks the initial stride towards realizing this ambition.
Being an international student has been both a challenging and enriching experience. It's opened my eyes to new perspectives, cultures, and ways of life. Navigating the intricacies of studying abroad has taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of embracing diversity in all its forms.
As I navigate through the complexities of my academic journey and the pursuit of my aspirations, I am fueled by the unwavering support of my family and the guidance of my mentors. Their belief in my potential serves as a constant reminder that with dedication and perseverance, even the loftiest goals are within reach.
I find joy in the rhythm of life, both on and off the dance floor. Dancing isn't just a hobby for me; it's a way to express myself, to let go, and to embrace the moment with every beat.
When life throws its curveballs, I turn to the written word. There's something magical about putting pen to paper or fingers to keys when emotions run deep. Those moments of vulnerability often result in beautifully crafted reflections that capture the essence of my experiences.
While talking about my life, I cannot overlook the profound influence of my grandfather, who I lost to cancer two years ago. Without his wisdom and encouragement, I would not be the person I am today. Though he may no longer walk beside me, his enduring wisdom echoes in my choices and I hold steadfast to his principles and carry his memory with me in every endeavor.
Two tattoos serve as constant reminders of those who shaped me: one reads "I am because you were," inked on the exact date of his diagnosis, a testament to his enduring impact, and the other, a heart formed from the fingerprints of my mom and dad, symbolizing the eternal bond of family. These tattoos are not just adornments but cherished emblems of love and the ties that bind us together.

I have had this quote saved for a long time that clearly defines how I strive to live life every day :
Embrace each day with an open heart and a positive mind, for in the tapestry of life, every thread contributes to the beauty of the whole. Let optimism be your compass, guiding you through the twists and turns, and illuminating the darkest corners with the light of possibility. Remember, it is not the challenges we face that define us, but rather, how we choose to greet them. So, let gratitude be your constant companion, kindness your currency, and joy your destination on this remarkable journey called life."
