@jayeff , my HP Compaq 1st crashed, got blue screen, self repaired, then updated, however it then was stuck on welcome sign in screen. I wasn't able to sign in. I ran the diagnostics, hard drive passed, but had "memory failed ". I replaced the CMOS 2032 battery, positive side in same location, cleaned the memory cards, which I upgraded last year, cleaned computer with air. Went to turn on, the same. A day or 2 later, I went to plug in, turn on, and noticed the green power light was on. I unplugged the cord, plugged back in, immediately it got power, started to come on, fan running, but just a few seconds later, it stops, green light stays on, I push and hold power button in, it stays on, doesn't start, anything! No power to keyboard. No fan running, nothing! ??????????????. Update (04/19/23): Btw: it's about 6 or 7 years old. I don't use it alot. No gaming.
