I would most likely agree with @oldturkey03 with the battery problem. HOWEVER, I would not recommend turning on the phone without a battery as it will not boot.
Wait, so is it only 1 stick? I'm wondering because I have a 1GB Stick in my Dell Vostro 1500, but it's reporting 2GB total. Is there also a hidden slot on the other side of the motherboard?
