Fyi I am posting for those that may still experience issues with a Samsung receiver auto voluming off. There are many diff models and mine did not fully seem like one posted as I only had 4 screws on back. I had a system given to me Samsung blu-ray 3d player 7.1 surround sound. Took back 4 screws off and lifted cover off. Faceplate had 3 to 4 tabs on top 3 on bottom and 2 between both sides lift those over locking parts slides right off. Followed volume censor to mobo and found the one wire connecting it pulled it out and put it back together no more auto voluming down. No need to do power. It did work and appreciate the original poster as the idea is sound. Must be an issue with the touch sensor registering touches when not touched.
