As mentioned above, a "no power" fault can be the result of any of a number of possible things. If that U5A1 is the culprit this bypass will work. In case anyone was interested....this particular unit is still functioning and was even recently successfully rgh 3'd. Good luck!
The problem is in diagnosing. The reason for a "no power" can be any of several different possible things. In this case I knew it was that component because there was no voltage on the output at all. Unfortunately you will either have to learn how to test/diagnose, or take it to someone who can.
Howdy, just wanted to tell people be very very careful when removing the joycon battery clip. Those things are super cheap and flimsy. I broke one, even being gentle. After some different approaches and a digital microscope I still haven’t figured out a safe reliable way to repair one. If I ever do I’ll post it.
