What I do personally on these is I get them fairly warm with a heat gun and pick them off with a nylon spudger. Once I get everything large up I just peel all remaining adhesive up with an exacto knife and run the razor along lightly to insure all glass is removed. Even a tiny piece of glass can crack a digitizer when you seat it. As long as you don't hit the small power flex cable that runs to the volume rockers you can't really go wrong. I work on at least 10 of these a week though and trust me you can get these pretty warm without damaging them. When they are warm the adhesive lets go very easily.
Meer informatieHey, You really must have hit it pretty hard to bend the frame on this device. They are really solid, just from my experience the logic boards in these are extremely durable though. Some pictures would really help us assess the damage. I had to repair the back glass, and screen on an iPhone 4 a while back and I got both the screen assembly and the back glass from the same company on Amazon for about $80, and they were very helpful, I can post links if you would like. I highly recommend being careful who you buy your parts from, their are a lot of terrible screen assemblies out there. I am seeing mid frames for this device on ebay, that may or may not be of quality for about $50, and your battery also will likely need replaced as well which should be around $20. The best case scenario for this repair would be about $150. Your best bet may be to buy a blacklisted/bad imei device from ebay and just swap the logic boards. Take some pictures from the front and side, as well take the back plate off and post some...
Meer informatieeverymac.com is a great resource for this kind of info. I know off hand that your machine uses DDR3-8500(1066MHZ) memory and will certainly support up to 8gb. Though depending on what you use your machine for, and your budget, I am certain 4gb would be sufficient, seeing as your machine ships with 2gb stock. You could upgrade to 4gb for $20-25 most likely, but be sure to get the right speed, alot of whats on the market for macs is 1333MHZ through 1866MHZ. In my Macs I have ran Kingston Hyper X, G-Skill, PNY, and Samsung aftermarket ram all without any errors. When buying ram I personally choose the best price vs. warranty ratio but YMMV. I have also heard good things about crucial and OWC memory in Macs, but I haven't used them. Good luck, if you are still using the stock 2gb it is a worthwhile upgrade. I also highly reccomend looking into purchasing an SSD for this machine. I had the Macbook 5.2 mid 2009 non unibody predecessor to this model, and the increase in speed when I installed an intel 320 80gb...
Meer informatieHey I found this link for you: Can i use the 2nd gen ipod touch screen to fix the ipod touch 3rd gen I have an iPod identical to yours so I was looking for the same info recently. Essentially the 3rd gen ipod touch was only an incremental upgrade and the devices are identical hardware wise, at least for the 8gb for sure. you will also notice it is hard to find screens sold as "3rd gen". Hope this helps
Meer informatieThe short answer is no. I just went through this w/ my early 2011 15" macbook pro. The entire topcase must be replaced, which involves removing screen, logic board etc etc. In my case it also required some special tools to remove the battery and such. The situation may be a little different w/ the air, so I would take a look at the topcase removal guide for the air on here.
Meer informatieWhat I did personally, which seemed to be a good "Permanent fix" was i purchased a roll of 3/4" mylar tape off amazon for about $8.I cut a thin strip the same size as the ends of the digitizer ribbon cable, then I attached it to the top (Opposite side of the gold on the ribbon cable). What this did was create a spacer between the ribbon cable and the socket it fits into, making it harder for the ribbon cable itself to come loose. If this doesn't make sense let me know and I can email you some pictures!
Meer informatieI had one of these up until this year (The 2.66ghz) and they can be extremely finicky, I believe you could use almost any logic board, thats made for this specific body style of mac pro(Before 2008 revision), but make sure your Xeon's will fit the board you get. Personally, I don't really think the logic board would have failed for no reason. I could be wrong though. Tearing out the logic board will be a long grueling process... My friend had one that need a board, and we opted to sell it over, beginning that process. I am leaning toward the power supply. I'll look around this evening and see what I can figure out. This 06 Mac Pro has alot of life left in it, and it can be fixed. This was a very expensive machine when it was new. What gpu are you running? As a long shot the graphics card may have failed. I will do some research and get back to you, I am done w/ classes in the next couple weeks, I am completely down to help you diagnose exactly what has failed. Once you know whats wrong, the rest is easy.
Meer informatieOK, First of all, Replacing the iPhone 4 screen is a royal pain in the a#$. It is seriously my least favorite repair to do. When you replace the screen on the iphone 4, if you get the oils from your skin on anything..... I mean anything.... It will cause wifi signal issues. To combat this, when I replaced mine, I wore latex gloves, and cleaned every surface I touched with "Windex"(Because it is a powerful degreaser), just keep it off the logic board. I know this sounds pretty crazy, but my wifi signal actually works better now than before I tore it down now. My friend did his, and didn't clean the surfaces his skin came in contact with, and his wifi antenna barely works now. I don't think you need to replace anything, just go in there and sterilize every surface. I am certain it will work. Let me know!
