I suggest following the advice of @jessabethany in particular, but one thing to remember for future: RICE. DOES. NOT. HELP. YOUR. PHONE. Best option is to get it open and turned off ASAP and allow the inside to dry out.

Making sure to follow this guide, I’d recommend taking the speaker out again and checking the contacts underneath that connect it. Sometimes if they get fingerprint oil on them they can stop working. Give them a clean and reassemble.

Hi Mark. If you’re comfortable with it, I’d recommend disassembling the phone and allowing the components to dry out. DO NOT put it in rice. If if you’re not comfortable with taking it apart, take it to a repair shop near you, who can take it apart for you. Assuming it wasn’t in the water for very long, it should be fixable.
