I just got one of these with apparent liquid damage to the SSD modules area—the computer is dead as a doornail, no signs of life. I see ifixit sells mustaches—er, motherboards—for this model (used), but there is no replacement guide. I'm wondering if it would be worth trying to replace that. This is still a perfectly viable model MacBook Pro otherwise, despite being officially vintage.
You may have already checked this, but the first thing I think of with trackpad problems is the battery underneath. Batteries can swell up and do weird things to the trackpad.
Bluetooth keyboard.
You don't.
I assume you're talking about storage and not memory. For years the best advice for anyone shopping for a Mac has been to configure-to-order as much storage as you can possibly afford.
That 2012 MacBook Pro was my very favorite. I'm still using my old one as a second computer.
Poor man's suction cup: wide packing tape works great to make a temporary handle to pull up on the case.
I got a replacement top filter (the tall skinny one). Solved that problem. They're really cheap on Amazon.
A flashing red light means the vacuum needs repair. My red light was flashing eight times. I'm currently trying to locate a replacement "main body". This model is so old Dyson doesn't have the part in stock even though they keep promising to get more.
The tall skinny top filter is almost impossible to clean. You can take it apart, but it's a pain. You can buy replacement top filters on Amazon for $2-$3 each. Replacing that filter solves most of the filter related problems that cleaning doesn't fix.
Thanks, Dice. Why on earth iFixit didn't include this in their step is beyond me.
