Had similar problem, had rpm but not much speed. Would take longer time to get up to speed( 60 mph). Found that the cvt ( tranny) was bad, new tranny problem fixed. Also check voltage, bad alternator , low voltage, than you get no rpm when stepping on peddle, also could be battery with low voltage( bad or shorted cell) The cvt is excellerate by wire( voltage), no or low voltage , no speed.
