I don't have a dvd player hooked up and my unit is HW 4540 Samsung but found if you go to the back of the sound bar and manually increase the volume it will reset itself .The volume will start working again( did for me) The remote will not increase it or decrease untill you go tothe back and do it manually. All fucntions are working back to normal again Hope this helps Dan
