So nice having all the screws the same size. No need to keep track just put them all in a pile for later reassembly.
This is far easier if you have a thin metal guitar pick. After creating the initial gap, rotate the pick like a saw blade. Use the plastic picks to keep the gap open. Be careful by the volume buttons as you may snag stuff that’s needed for the wireless charging capability. Overall good design by Samsung not so tough to get to the battery on this model.
Yep 91% IPA alcohol and heat together make this a lot easier. Also it’s a lot safer as the battery came out without bending. Be sure to NEVER use sharp anything on this step or you may puncture the battery which can then catch fire.
Man, I wouldn’t even try that, but props to you. Wonder how many screens get broken completely and how many glass shards are embedded in his fingers.
I was doing a logic board swap, so I left the camera and interconnects on the board. This guide is definitely good, everything in my old Iphone 5 is working ok again.
No idea why you would remove the battery just to take out the motherboard. I didn't do this, and was able to get the motherboard out fine. Now of course once I realized this battery in the new case wasn't good, I removed and replaced it.
I just did this procedure 2x to swap motherboards from an iPhone with a marginal charge port. Everything works great, but Apple Pay no longer works. Any ideas why? Great guide, btw.
It's not easy, but I've done it several times now. GPS antenna was broken, so had to remove whole logic board. Antenna is very difficult to put back in, but most of the rest of the steps are straightforward and as long as you go slow and arrange the parts on your work area in order it will be ok.
Well I transferred all the parts properly, but the front camera wasn’t working. Reseating it fixed the camera but then when I closed the screen it cracked. I backed out to the old screen which is held together by tape, but miraculously everything including the camera and Touch ID is fine. Better luck next time.
I enabled assistive touch before making a go on this part. Screws are very small, easy to strip, and difficult to find if they go flying when you;re just trying to seat them properly.
