My Problem

The hard drive died on my brother-in-law's iMac computer. I was on vacation so he took the computer to the Apple store. It seemed that no one was interested in fixing a six year old computer. When I came back from vacation he asked if I could help. I of course said, "Yes!", and started looking online for a replacement hard drive for his computer. I came across your site and was very impressed - more people should be fixing things instead of throwing them away. Your site made it very easy to choose the correct hard drive and tools (except for the Phillips #1 screwdriver that would not work on opening the access door- it seemed to be too pointy. Thankfully I found a screwdriver from my husband's tool box that worked.)

Mijn oplossing

I watched the instructional video on YouTube first. Then, with my trusty iPad next to me, I followed the step by step directions. Soon the computer was up and running, and my brother-in-law and his family are happy. Wow - a lot cheaper than buying a new computer.

Mijn advies

My advice is if it can be fixed Fix It! Earth and your pocketbook will be thankful!

Before you begin to open your computer have several small bowls available to separate the different size screws. It makes it easier when you are ready to put the computer back together.
