High Humidity Damage to iPhone4 - Replace Dock Connector

Mijn probleem

I also use my iPhone for running, biking, and car audio. I took it running on a couple 90+ degree days with 90%+ humidity. Shortly after, it slowly stopped charging. The dock connector was slightly corroded. It was still under warranty, but Apple thought it was "accidental damage or misuse". Apparently a product that comes with a running gps app isn't intended to be taken running.

Mijn oplossing

The repair went well. It took about 1.5 hrs to swap. I put all the pieces on white paper in the order that I removed them, so it was easy to put back together.

Mijn advies

1) Take your time, be patient, and you'll get it done.

2) Don't take your iPhone running on high humidity days.
