Mijn probleem
I banged the back of my iPad Air on the edge of the kitchen counter and heard a shatter.
The iPad still came on but no picture just shattered shapes of screen in color.
Not wanting to spring for a new iPad and having not done any recent syncing of the iPad to my computer I thought my information was lost.
I had replaced a battery in my iPhone previously so thought I would see if I could get a replacement screen and discovered IFIXIT so I ordered the parts and once I removed the screen discovered it was not the screen that was damaged but the led underneath.
I ordered the new led from IFIXIT and was able to bring my iPad back to life.
Mijn oplossing
The repair was easy and the step by step manual was good on the disassembly. I was able to fix the iPad for way less than the cost of a new iPad.
From start finish of actual repair time was about an hour, short one day delay before I could reassemble since I had to order the additional led screen.
IFIXIT shipped the orders over night and at a very reasonable price and they fit perfectly with no surprises.
Customer service was outstanding and even made sure my led screen got shipped for next day delivery even though I missed the cut off time for shipping that day.
Mijn advies
The manual could have been a bit more complete on the reassembly instead just saying assembly is reverse of disassembly. There was a few things a person with no knowledge would like to know like the placement of some ribbon cables and antennas. Otherwise the repair was easy.
