Mijn probleem
After downloading the latest upgrade, my 60GB PS3 resets itself and the Yellow light of death shows up. My game is still inside the PS3 and I never had the chance to back up any of the 3 years of saved data (I know I'm stupid, won't make that mistake again). After doing some research we came across ifixit and after a week goes by the kit arrived. Everything went smoothly and my PS3 is back from the dead. THANK YOU ifixit!
Mijn oplossing
It took us roughly an hour and a half from the moment of opening the PS3, cleaning it, using the repair kit, and putting everything back together. The guide found on this website is very helpful especially with the alternate pictures.
Mijn advies
Play close attention to which PS3 version you have. We thought we had the same one that's displayed in the repair guide but things got a bit difficult because our wifi-bluetooth assembly was different than the one shown in the pictures which required a little creativity. Keep a tray where you can lay out the different screws. Also if you think you could use a hair dryer instead of buying the heat gun, think again, the motherboard is too delicate to have all that air blasted at it. THE KIT WORKS!
