Heat the screen

  • Completely power off the Surface before you begin disassembly.

  • If the screen's glass is cracked, keep further breakage contained and prevent bodily harm during your repair by taping over the glass. Lay overlapping strips of clear packing tape over the display until all the glass is covered. Wear safety glasses to protect your eyes.

  • Heat an iOpener and apply it to the right edge of the Surface's screen for two minutes.

  • You may need to reheat and reapply the iOpener several times to get the Surface warm enough. Follow the iOpener instructions to avoid overheating.

  • A hair dryer, heat gun, or hot plate may also be used for more heat, but be careful not to overheat the Surface—the screen and internal battery are susceptible to heat damage.

Chauffer l'écran

Éteignez complètement la Surface avant de commencer le démontage.

Si la vitre de l'écran est fissurée, empêchez la fissure de s'aggraver et les éclats de vous blesser, en recouvrant la vitre de ruban adhésif. Posez des bandes de ruban se recouvrant les unes les autres jusqu'à couvrir l'entièreté de l'écran. Portez des lunettes de protection pour vous protéger les yeux.

Chauffez un iOpener et appliquez-le sur le bord droit de l'écran de la Surface pendant deux minutes.

Vous devrez peut-être refaire chauffer et réappliquer l'iOpener plusieurs fois pour chauffer suffisamment la Surface. Respectez les instructions de l'iOpener pour éviter la surchauffe.

Un sèche-cheveux, un pistolet thermique ou une plaque chauffante peuvent aussi faire l'affaire, mais veillez à ne pas surchauffer la Surface – l'écran et la batterie sont tous deux sensibles à la chaleur.
