A damaged reflective document mat can produce poor quality images. You can replace this mat in a few simple steps.

Grasp the scanner lid cover from the front of the device and lift lid all the way up until it stands on its own.

With two hands, grasp the lid on both sides near the hinges and lift straight up to release the lid from each hinge.

Once the lid has been removed, lay it on a flat surface with the white mat facing up.

Using the flat end of a plastic spudger, pry the mat off at one of the front corners. Do this again for the other front corner.

Once both front corners have been released from the plastic clasps the rest of the mat should easily lift off.

Recycle or discard the damaged mat.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
