We are removing the old light filter foam and replacing it with new foam in your Canon AE-1. This will help keep light out of the inner case so that it doesn't wreck the film.

Open the film compartment by pulling on the release pin.

Use a 3mm slot screw driver to scrape old light filter foam cleanly off.

Then use Isopropyl Alcohol to assist in removing the old light filter foam.

Cut the new light filter foam to size so it can fit in the slot.

Place the sticky side of the new strip of light filter foam over old foams location.
