Flip the charging base over, so that the support pillar is facing down.

Remove the two 11.6 mm Phillips #1 screws deep within the pillar.

Remove the plastic piece holding the cord, as well as the charging cord.
When replacing the charging cord, ensure that the new unit has the same voltage and current limits, as to not damage the internal battery.
