Background

The Unitree Go2 is a consumer grade robotic dog made by Chinese robotics company Unitree Robotics. Specializing in quadrupeds, the company was founded in 2016. The Unitree Go2, announced and released in July 2023, is the successor to the 2021 Go1, bearing many similarities to Boston Dynamics' Spot. Unitree says the Go2 is trained on AI models, also using them to "better understand the world and make decisions." Unitree also notes that the Go2 dog "boasts a variety of poses such as jumping, stretching, shaking hands, cheering, pouncing, and sitting down."

Featuring LiDAR, object avoidance, walking, running, various poses, and AI learning, the Unitree Go2 starts at $1600.

Identification

The Unitree Go2 can be identified by its dual front facing cameras and sensors, as well as the spinning LiDAR module on the robot's "chin." It's a quadruped, meaning it has four legs, and is constructed from both aluminum and hard plastic. "Go2" is printed on the side of the main body.
