Background and Identification
Cement mixers, also called concrete mixers, combine cement with water and an aggregate like sand or gravel to make concrete. They do this with a revolving drum or container. As the drum turns, it keeps the concrete inside moving, which mixes it together and keeps it from setting as quickly. Cement mixers come in a variety of sizes depending on the need of the project. Portable cement mixers like this one are useful because workers can make and contain the liquid concrete onsite, which gives them lots of time to pour the concrete before it sets.
This Toro cement mixer uses a Honda GX240 gasoline engine to power the rotation of the drum. It can be towed around a worksite easily, and has a wide drum opening to make it easier to pour cement, water, and sand or gravel into the drum to make concrete.
