Background
Razer released their Megalodon gaming headset on June 15, 2009. Boasting virtual 7.1 surround sound, this headset takes gaming audio to the next level. The Maelstrom, an external audio processing unit, allows users to independently control the volume of each of the headphones 7 speakers and subwoofer. This control unit also enables the user to mute the headphones, as well as adjust the sensitivity and mute the microphone. The boom microphone has the ability to swivel 270 degrees, as well as isolating and eliminating ambient noise.
Identification
These headphones can be identified from other Razer models by their round shape coupled with the external Maelstrom audio unit. No other Razer headphones use this system. Also, the Megalodon uses a USB plug instead of a regular headphone jack.
These headphones can be purchased on many different technology websites across the web.
Troubleshooting
Oh, no! If something is wrong with your headset, diagnose the problem on the Razer Megalodon Troubleshooting page.
