Makita Angle Grinder XAG04 (2017)

The Makita XAG04 Brushless Angle Grinder is a cordless multipurpose handheld disk grinder. The XAG04 has an efficient brushless motor that is electronically controlled to optimize battery energy use for up to 50% longer run time.

The XAG04 can use a variety of Makita standard 18V lithium-ion battery cartridges. With the Makita standard 18V battery cartridge the XAG04 weighs 5.6lbs.

The XAG04 is also compatible with a variety of optional attachments including standard Makita wire cup brush attachments, wire wheel brush attachments, and abrasive cut-off wheel attachments. The XAG04 has an active feedback sensor (AFT) which turns off if the rotation of the wheel is suddenly forced to stop. This design prevents damage to the tool.

The Makita XAG04 was released in 2017 and is sold under two model numbers: The XAG04Z is the angle grinder only, with no included battery cartridge or charger. The XAG04T model is a kit including the XAG04Z angle grinder, an 18V lithium-ion battery (model: BL1850B), an 18V lithium-ion battery rapid optimum charger (model: DC18RC), a 5"x1/4"x7/8" INOX grinding wheel (model: A-95962), a 5" tool-less wheel guard (model: 126678-1), and a 5" ultra-thin stainless steel cut-off wheel (model: B-46165).

The Makita XAG04 model can be identified by the model number printed on the bottom of the motor, beside the wheel attachment. The Makita XAG04 is compact and ergonomic and is 14-1/4 in. L. It's also light weight, weighing 5.6 lbs. with battery. It has a black rubberized soft grip. There is a slide switch with lock-on mechanism at the top of the handle. Also, a 3-stage LED gauge indicating battery level.
