Background

Intel's NUC ("next unit of computing") line of miniature, small form factor PCs, are usually optioned as kits, featuring Intel mobile SoCs, where the user supplies memory and storage to set the PC up as they so choose. Usually also supporting VESA mounting, they're commonly used in work or medical environments replacing more expensive all-in-one solutions.

In July 2023, ten years after the first Sandy Bridge NUC, Intel formally announced that the production of NUCs and their boards will be taken over by ASUS.

The Intel NUC Performance Kit PAHi3 is essentially a Core i3 processor in a box, with flexible configuration options and thorough I/O.

Identification

Intel NUCs are usually a small black box, with ports on the front and rear, and model and serial information printed on the bottom.
