Background and Identification
The Garmin nüvi 260w was released in July 2007. It has a 4.3" screen, with 480x272 pixel resolution. It has storage capabilities through an SD chip. However, it has no bluetooth, voice-activation, voice-to-text, lane assist, junction view, traffic trends, FM transmitter or MP3 capabilities. The mapping coverage has been noted to vary between models. It is a discontinued model, with no known recalls.
In order to correctly identify your device as a Garmin Nüvi, one can locate the device name a model number on the regulatory sticker located on the bottom of the device. Other methods of identification is the 4.3" screen and the SD slot. For example, the Nüvi 255 has a microSD slot and the Nüvi 260 has a 3.5" screen, so any deviation like this would indicate that your device is not a Nüvi 260w.
