Glucocard Vital User Instruction Manual
Background
The Arkray Glucocard Vital was developed in 1991 with the partnership between ArKray and Panasonic. The idea was to come up with an affordable device for individuals to be able to manage their diabetes. The FDA approved this device in November of 2009 and was officially launched in December of 2009.
The Arkray Glucocard Vital does throw up certain error or malfunctions which includes temperature warning, test strip error, low battery, or meter failure. But doesn't have any known world wide issues/recalls.
The Arkray Glucocard Vital is a blood glucose meter that records an individuals blood sugar levels using auto-coding. This device is available in a starter kit. The starter kit includes: The Meter (device), 10 test strips, 10 lancets, lancing device, control solution, and a carrying case.
An individual with insert a test strip inside the meter, take the lancet device and prick the top of their finger, place a drop of blood onto the end of strip, and from their the device with produce results within seconds.
Identification
The Arkray Glucocard has a rectangular shape with a display screen and three buttons on the front side. The "<" symbol is the back button. The ">" symbol is the forward button. The button with the line and circle is the power button. There is a test strip port located at the bottom of the device. On the back of the device there is a battery compartment, serial number of the device, and a customer service number.
