Clean Install Win 11 + Updates no problem ...

I have this Ipason P220ABJ31 all-in-one desktop that we have clean installed Windows 11 on, 1st thing was to connect to the WiFi and then update everything via windows update without any problems. As soon as we open Edge browser it freezes with no way to turn it off or anything. I can only think maybe the 8 GB RAM module is dying, but then how can it install and update etc without freezing if the RAM module was going faulty? No other RAM module to test with. This same issue was happening before, so I thought a clean install might fix it. I am a mac user so not familar anymore with windoof systems. Stumped.

Installing updates has nothing to do with the low memory. However, it could be a hardware fault. If the RAM is short-circuiting or has been covered with carbon over time, you may want to clean it with alcohol or gasoline. Keep it dry and then insert it back in the motherboard. You can borrow a RAM module for a day from your friends or make a deal with the distributor to provide you with a module for a few hours of testing. You can also get it much cheaper from a pawn shop in your local market.

Or you can simply bypass using Edge and use Explorer to download Firefox browser and test it out again. I hope it will do the job just fine.

It was freezing before and we were using Chrome & Firefox. I will have a go at cleaning the RAM, inside the unit is very clean no dust at all. Thanks for the tip, will update!

I found a 4 GB RAM PC3L-12800S and it runs fine! RAM after all. On desktop saved from the breakers yard! Thanks :)

@tngrafix After an hour it has frozen up again.... junk yard for this I'm afraid. I have totally had it with windows units.

It's just not economically worth to pay someone hours to diagnose whatever is going on with this thing. And no way to activate the system anymore. Wasted to many days on this.

@livfe get a T-FORCE Delta RAM unit. They have life lifetime warranty on their products. You see, PC components are hard to inspect. Because each has its own type of problems in between. The device that you own is rare to see and is owned by someone. You can carry it to a repair shop to inspect the actual problem. They will charge you a few bucks just to let you know the actual problem with the device. You can replace that component with your own easily. If nothing works, maybe it will come a time to say goodbye to the device and own it a modren on that more people are familiar with.
