Hello,
I bought this camera two years ago and for one year it was not in use. I charged the battery for two days and tried to turn on the camera but it only stay on for one sec and then turns off. I am thinking that I might need a new battery but I want to be sure before buying it. I would like to not buy a new battery unless that's my only option.

Sounds like you need a new battery- if possible, you should try turning it on with it plugged in, if it works fine, then it's definitely the battery. If not, could still be the battery, but could be other things as well, however it's 90% probable it's the battery.
You can get the battery for less than $10 here. Definitely worth getting a new battery and seeing if it works fine then.
