my laptop quit charging and I noticed the tip of the cord that plugs into the portwas really hot and if I wiggled it a little it would charge betterso I was wondering how to replace it.

You open the puppy up, remove the mother board and de-solder the jack and then solder the new one in place... (yes you can find and buy a replacement on line an example here), shop around, Sounds overwhelming perhaps, but here is a video of a fellow doing this. Note, you don't have to have the expensive hot-air tool he uses to solder and de-solder, it's nice, but not required. By the way, check that the plug on the end of your power cable isn't the problem first... they sometimes break too and are an easier fix.

From what I looked into, unless it is a faulty charging cable, it appears that you will have to de-solder the charging port and solder a new port on. If you don't know how to solder, you can take it to someone who has experience soldering. If you do know how to solder, I would recommend following the battery replacement guide up to the point where you disconnect the battery, then use a solder wick or a solder sucker with a soldering iron to remove the seven solder joints around the charging port. You can replace the charging port with one that you can find online and solder it to the board. Then reassemble the laptop. Make sure to get the replacement part before attempting to replace the port. Hope this helps.
