Won't stay on with loud noise.

Okay, so we just moved. Amana dryer was fine at old house. Move here, loud grinding noise and won't stay on past 10 seconds.

Replaced all of the parts. Same problem. Bought a new dryer, same problem! Loud grinding noise then shuts off.

Replaced the wiring from the breaker that is less than 3 years old, to the outlet, new outlet head. Everything is BRAND NEW and the dryer won't stop making the noise and won't stay on.

What is the model number of the new dryer?

Have you checked that the wiring is OK in that the correct voltage and earth appears on the correct wires at the machine?

Does it need one breaker or two breakers i.e. two separate power feeds (1 x 120V AC or 2 x 120V AC), to operate?

Is there also a GFCI or RCD connected in the dryer's power supply at the house power box?

I honestly am unsure of the rest.

I see on the dryer it says

120/240v 60 hz 24a 3 wires

120/200v 60 hz 440w 22a 3 wires

Im new at this DIY stuff

Here are the installation instructions, taken from this support webpage for the dryer.

Go to p.11 to see how to connect the power to the dryer, depending on whether a 3 or 4 wire connection is used.

Basically the dryer needs 240V AC to operate. This means 2 x 120V feeds (each with their own breaker) plus a Neutral wire (and an Earth wire in the case of a 4 wire connection).

Also take heed of the Note regarding if a GFCI breaker is being used in lieu of a standard breaker.

Be safety aware when working with AC voltage. Always ensure that the breakers have been tripped and that there is no live voltage on any wires when going to terminate them in the dryer. Working with AC voltage can be lethal if you don't know what you're doing. If in any doubt, call an electrician and get them to connect the power to the dryer.
