Ejects itself from iTunes library.

I have a 20gb iPod classic 4th generation and Ive been replacing parts on it as needed. I just put in a new logic board (bought from here) and now when I connect it to my iTunes it will eject itself for now reason but then it won't turn off. It just stays on the "do not disconnect" icon and I have to wait for the battery to die before I can do anything with it.

Any ideas why? Should I just try restoring it and see if that helps.

It sounds like there is a bug in the firmware you have on your iPod. I've had something similar happen to me, and to fix it I've just restarted the iPod (turn on hold, count to five, turn off hold, press and hold the center button and the menu button till it reboots).

If you reboot both your computer and your iPod and it still doesn't come out of the do not disconnect state, then you should make sure all of your music is backed up off of your iPod onto your computer and use the factory reset button in itunes to reinstall the software to your iPod.

I hope that helps.

It will automatically eject if you auto-sync, and you do not have Enable Disk Use checked.

Thanks for the help guys. I ended up restoring it and I didn't have any problems after that as far as putting music on it. Hopefully this will be the last of the issues I've been having with this particular iPod.
