I've got an issue where the battery isnt getting enough pressure or something on the left side (looking at the + as the top) and so normally wont turn on but it will turn on if i press down on it. is there a way to wedge something in maybe? ill provide pics if asked but i dont know what to photograph to be honest ^^;

You could probably try using something like aluminium foil that you can find in a kitchen to try and help the battery make contact since it should be possible to use it as a spacer to create more pressure within the battery holder.
You could also try bending the pins within the battery holder to try and force it to make contact with the battery in there.

Could you hold it with insulating tape as a workaround? And you could start by taking a couple of photos of the battery compartment with and without the battery
