Cracked screen not working after replacement
Hi all. I am no expert in phone repairs so I appreciate any input! I cracked my iPhone 13 screen by falling onto it. The screen had multiple cracks but was still fully functioning and responsive with no lines / spots.
I took it for repair but when I collected it there was an issue:
- The new screen (OLED) would work only when at certain angles (not within the phone shell) and was VERY dim.
- The old screen when tested again would not display an image at all - unsure if it is responsive to touch
The repair engineer suggested that the initial fall that cracked the screen could also have damaged something within the phone, which was made worse when removing the cracked phone screen. Although I’m not sure how knowledgable this guy was.
The situation now is I have a phone that is working (e.g. sounds being made when plugged in to charge etc.) but a screen that isn’t working.
I appreciate that without any further information it could be difficult to diagnose. Are there any common causes for this issue that are somewhat easy to fix? Or does anyone have any reasonably priced recommendations for repair shops in London?
Is dit een goede vraag?
1. When taking out a cracked screen, the screen often doesn't survive. It's simply not designed to be taken out when cracked.
2. when you say 'at certain angles' I'm unsure of what you mean. Is it viewing angles, or the angle of the screen against the housing. (Seems like a display flex issue)
