Why can't you easily take the back off to deep clean?

My partner has this coffee maker and was complaining about the buildup in the cracks and crevices.

I used the clean function with vinegar, like recommended, but the buildup is bad enough that a little elbow grease is needed, pic below.

Why the hell is is so difficult to open?

@justin72815 Why the hell is is so difficult to open? You really can't expect the OEM's to make it easy for us end users to open their expensive devices. That would be to easy. WE could actually repair them easier and keep them out of the landfill. That is not what they want. They want us to buy newer, better and more. After all they are driven by greed and want to take our hard earned money.

Seriously, they are all like this. A royal PITA to work on. That is the importance of guides like these Cuisinart CHW-12 That way we can take devices apart and can fix them, even so they don't want us too. After all, that is what iFixit is doing. Here you get empowered to fix your own device. To save money, material and even our environment.
