One washer cycle works, but others don't complete; replace timer?
Hi, if one cycle on a washing machine works fine, start to finish, but other cycles stop in the middle and don't complete, is the problem probably the timer?
The Express cycle always works fine on our Kenmore washer model 110.24982300. It washes, rinses, then spins, all fine, so we use that cycle.
We tried to use the longer cycles (Ultra Clean or Perm Press II.) Those start ok, wash a while, then stop in the middle, with the tank full of water & wet clothes. I could turn the dial to spin then it will spin and empty.
I'm only guessing, does this mean the timer should be replaced? I can do that, but want to know if I'm wrong and it could be something else. Thanks

Hi @uhoh49649,
Check behind the timer in the control panel to see if there's a wiring diagram of the washer.
If there is this should help to find out where the problem is.
If it is there and you need more help, post an image of the wiring diagram back here.
Here's how to do this on ifixit.

Thanks for your suggestion. I hadn't opened it yet but will check.
One cycle works fine all the way through wash, rinse and spin. The other cycles that fail do the same things, except they're supposed to rinse and spin twice. Would wiring cause that problem? I've been guessing it's the timer.
I'm just thinking this through before I tear into it or order parts. Thx

That's why I suggested to look for the wiring diagram.
It should point to the problem if the common point is the timer but it pays to make sure.
If it is the timer search online for WP8541275 to find suppliers that suit you best.
