OWC Aura Pro X2 480 GB SSD

I have two 27" iMacs one from late 2015 and 2017. Now I want to replace the internal SSD (24Gb and 28Gb) with an OWC Aura Pro X2 480 GB SSD. The previous one was configured as a fusion with a 1Tb HDD. Can I omit the 1Tb HDD (it is quite slow) after the conversion and work only with the new OWC SSD ?
