iMac internal speakers make like a wind sound

I reporpused the iMac as an external display but the speakers make like a wind sound also like some beeps, found a post on reddit saying that its bakcground noise and that turning down the volume can solve, I did and the sound doesnt dissapear its still pretty loud . What else can I do? could it be a wiring problem? I connected the brown and black to the - and the grey ones to the +.

If you can capture the sound and if there is a pattern it can be easier to diagnose.

If you feel comfortable with opening it you can follow this guide to get inside the unit

iMac Intel 27" EMC 2429 Display Replacement

It can be defective speakers.

Maybe I didn't not explain well. The iMac is not an iMac anymore it's just a screen I removed everything except the speakers and the screen and I bought a display controller so the screen can have video from an HDMI, the screen is now working but the speakers no, to make the speakers work I bought an amplifier and connected the speakers to it

@gerardit Then it sounds like a problem with the amplifier. What brand and model amplifier?
