Is there a way to fix a tiny hole in an LCD flex cable?

I finished up disassembling and reassembling my Acer ED273 monitor (to spray paint it) until I realized that there is a vertical black line on my screen. I tried the conventional ways of fixing, like slightly pressing on the connector, but with no success. Then I realized there is an insanely tiny indent (about the size of a speck of dust) in one of the cables. I sort of rubbed that indent while the screen was connected and it actually did something. However that still doesn't fix my issue... Any ideas? I thought maybe using a hairdryer to barely melt the plastic of the flex cable or a soldering iron on a low temperature, but I'm not sure if it could make it worse. It's really only abt. two pixels wide.
