Hi @aaronc63961,

Please confirm whether you have a Nokia 3310 or a Nokia 3310 3G as they have different charger connection type i.e. DC barrel plug versus micro USB connector?

What are the AC input voltage specifications for the charger you have now (printed on charger case) e.g. 100-240V AC, 240V AC etc?

What is the voltage supply value of the location that you are in now?

Hey thanks for fast reply I have the old Nokia 3310 the dc barrel one. Chargers input says 100-240v~ 50-60hz 150ma and output is 5.0v 550ma. the charger is type A (so us charger) i live in australia my travel adapter is 250v~ 10A and i tried multiple wall sockets to charge it and no charge still nothing

Bear with me, I'm a bit slow on the uptake ;-)

You have something similar to this to connect a USA charger to an Aust. wall power outlet, is this correct?

If you have a DMM (digital multimeter) you could check if there's 5V DC on the charger's output plug.

Alternatively if you're in Aust, you could go to a local supplier (example only) and check if they have a suitable USB cable with the appropriate DC plug size (take the phone) and use that connected to any mobile phone charger (which allows for a removable USB cable) or connect it to a computer's USB port.

Note: make sure that the DC plug is inserted into the USB cable the correct way as it appears in the image that it is reversible as far as polarity goes. Get the store to check this first if you have to get one with a reversible plug connector.

I was updating my answer when you replied so check the note about the polarity if the DC plug is able to be inserted in a different way thereby reversing the polarity of the DC supply. If reversed it could damage the phone - in the image you can see the two pins on the plug and the two holes in the connector at the end of the USB cable. Usually they are designed to go either way allowing for a +ve or -ve DC supply which can be a problem if you put it in the wrong way.

Sometimes it is marked on the plug and the connector it plugs into which is +ve so you can line them up to match i.e. +ve to +ve

The phone requires a +ve DC supply.
