headband slide cover broke, How to replace?

from what I can see of available replacement parts for sale, both sides are basically the same, and are equally likely to break. Only one seller I found (centralsound dot co) makes their own redesigned parts that would swap around the one thick wire running through the headband into the earcup without having to disengage the wire from the earcup.

I, genius that I am, purchased cheaper parts from a chinese seller on ebay, and of course the parts are to OEM spec, meaning there is a loop of hard plastic the wire gets in the way of.

I have zero income and can only afford this, so if anyone can help me figure out how to tear down the earcups I would appreciate it.
