No longer connects to external monitor via HDMI (and other issues)

Hello all,

A while ago, I used this laptop (Acer Aspire E5-575G-76YK) as a main laptop, up until the plastic back of the screen started to form a crack, so the screen was removed. I used it for a bit with an external monitor until it eventually altogether stopped connecting to HDMI randomly, I tried different cords, different TV's, different settings and none of them connected.

The laptop has been dropped numerous times, and has been sitting around somewhat disassembled (it does not have the bottom on it). It also has an issue with connecting to WiFi, it detects it, but it connects with only 1 or 2 bars and often disconnects. Alternatively, I have tried using an Ethernet, and it had a similar result- bad connection, and it often disconnected and didn't work at all.

The laptop is basically completely useless at this point, so I'm wondering if this is an easy fix.

It hadn't been dropped, or noticably damaged, recently prior to the HDMI not working.

The original screen still works (to my knowledge), however I do not know how to reconnect it.

Well there are a few things to try.. Starting with smart and working down to cave man lol. First off make sure the graphics card/pci express/ chip set all have current drivers and are enabled in the control panel tree, OR the last ones you remember working installed ( I just had a deprecation issue with an Intel HD graphics driver in win 10 pro.) once that is done check to see if between the screen cracks, time, abuse, and the drops that the wires for your antenna attached to the laptop (Bluetooth and Wifi ant. Black and white wires... Think mini coax, top of the frame behind the screen and the ones to the pci Wan card are intact and on the sockets. You could also wipe it and do a factory reset... Might fix it ALL. LAST BUT NOT LEAST....HEAT GUN THE SUCKA. The solder could have broken in one or more components caused sys failure of display hdmi port etc. 3 - 4 " away with a good heat gun may just revive it or kill it dead. Hope this helps... There I did one good deed on my birthday. Let me know what works.
