Hi @brucecamer82470,

Have you checked that the HDD(SSD?) is set as 1st boot in BIOS?

Does it also do this the 2nd time after it has booted, loaded Win OK etc and you then shut it down and try to start it again or only from a "cold start" so to speak?

Can you get into BIOS OK as soon as the logo appears?

If you have Win 10 try disabling Fast startup and check how long it takes to start

Hi Bruce,

There can be a number of causes, including a possible drive hardware failure. Is it slow once you have booted up into Windows?

The slowness can be from Windows trying to find files that are corrupted.

You can try the following for Windows corrupted files:

From CMD Prompt Run the following:

  •  Chkdsk /F
  • SFC /scannow
  • Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Of course there is always running a complete anti-virus/malware scan.

Checking Device Manager for hardware driver problems could also help.

  1. Open the “Run” dialogue box by pressing and holding the Windows key, then press the R key (“Run”).
  2. Type devmgmt.msc.
  3. Click OK .
  4. Check the drivers' list and expand the list if necessary.
  5. Look for exclamation marks by the device.
  6. Once you find the corrupted driver, right-click on it and select Update driver from the context menu.

Reboot computer.

Let us know how it goes.
