Instrument display has patches of bad pixels, what could I do?

There are some large splotches of dead pixels near the bottom of my digital instrument display. In an ideal world I would modify the software to move the display graphics outside of this area. Is there any chance I could do that?

Alternatively, it is feasible to swap the display out for another one?

It is fundamentally not right that I should have to buy a new car just because of some bad pixels on the instrument display.

Car is MkII (2014) 2.0HDi Blue 150, right-hand drive.

Hi @dan54331

Here's a video that may help (or give some ideas) how to remove the instrument cluster in a C4 Picasso.

If you decide to remove it check on the back of the cluster panel for a part or model number. Information online seems to suggest that it may be LLB123LT01 (examples only) but it pays to make sure.

The video wasn't quite the right display, but thanks, I know what I need to do now. Hopefully can fix it for less than 200 quid!

You should swap the display, is not that hard.

It is not the media touch screen that is the problem, but the larger instrument display above it. I haven't found a youtube video which shows the removal of that part, and I don't know where I would source a new one cheaply.

Thanks for your help, it was interesting but of little use.
