Sifting through listings for the replacement circle pad/analog stick modules indicates that the normal series and 'New' series 3DS lines use different parts. While all of the original versions (3DS, 3DS XL, and 2DS) are compatible with one version, it seems that the 'New' series (New 3DS, New 3DS XL, New 2DS) are compatible with another design. These are not cross-compatible. This is due to a difference in dimensions/fitting.
