How to program fire tv to have apps go to 128gb sims

Hello, my amazon fire tv (model DV83YW, released 2017, has a sims card slot. Problem - none of the apps go to it, they all stay on the main box which loses memory after updates etc. Can someone please provide me steps on how to program it to have apps go to the sims card and clear up some of the memory on the fire tv.
