Why does my Wii keep disconnecting from my TV?

I bought a broken Wii that powered on, but output a black screen. I replaced the Bluetooth module, and it got to the "press A to continue" screen, then the TV went back to no signal. The Wii is paired to a controller (it wouldn't before) and turns on and off as expected, but no signal to the TV. When I reset the AC adapter, it gets back to "press A," but then it just loses the signal again, and won't send anything to the TV until I reset the AC adapter again. What could be going on?

Hi @momcanfixi89446

Based on the information provided, it seems like you've made some progress with the Wii console but are still experiencing issues with the video signal. Here are a few possibilities to consider:

  1. Video output settings: It's possible that the video output settings on the Wii console are not properly configured for your TV. Try accessing the Wii's system settings and adjusting the video output options to match your TV's resolution and display settings. You can do this by navigating to the Wii's main menu, selecting "Wii Options," then "Wii Settings," and finally "Screen." Experiment with different video output settings to see if any of them resolve the issue.
  2. Faulty video cable: The problem could be related to the video cable connecting the Wii to the TV. Ensure that the cable is securely connected to both the Wii and the TV. If possible, try using a different video cable to see if the issue persists. Sometimes, a damaged or faulty cable can cause signal loss or display problems.
  3. TV compatibility: It's worth checking if the TV you're using is fully compatible with the Wii console. Older TVs or certain models may not support the Wii's video output signal. Consult the TV's manual or contact the manufacturer to verify its compatibility with the Wii.
  4. Hardware issue: There may be an underlying hardware issue with the Wii console itself, such as a faulty video output port or a problem with the graphics chip. Unfortunately, diagnosing and repairing internal hardware issues typically requires professional expertise. Consider reaching out to a qualified technician or contacting Nintendo's customer support for further assistance.

These suggestions should help you troubleshoot the issue with your Wii console.

Thank you for the pointers!

How can I access the system settings, when I can't get a picture? Just try another TV?
