My Wii will not turn on.

My Wii, when plugged in, will display a red light but after trying to turn it on (I've tried pressing the power button, eject button and inserting a disc) or leaving it for around 30 seconds, the light will shut back off. Unplugging the A/C Adapter and letting it sit for 10 minutes, then plugging it back in allows the red light to come back on. Any quicker than that, the light turns on for a fraction of a second and turns back off immediately. There is no blue disc drive flash when attempting to turn the console on and I have not yet taken the console apart. I have not used this console in close to a decade (it was working when I last used it) and I'm wondering if I should keep trying or if there is no hope.

It could be a power supply problem, or even some dust buildup that is shorting some part of the power circuit... I'm afraid you might find useful to open it up and check it the hard way.

Well I know it is not a power supply problem as I bought a different one just to check and it does the same thing. I did use a duster to try and blow some of it out but I think it needs to be opened up to get at it thoroughly. I will, however, try opening it soon but I don't have a tiny phillips head to open it. Appreciate the help!
